Forum Cooperative LCA — SMS / Text Messaging Terms

Effective: July 1, 2026

These SMS Terms govern the text-messaging program operated by Forum Cooperative LCA ("Forum," "we," "us," or "our") in connection with the Bainbridge Island Voter Forum (BIVF) and related products and services (the "Services"). By opting in to receive text messages from us, you agree to these SMS Terms and to our Privacy Policy.

This document is provided for transparency and does not constitute legal advice.

1. Program Description

When you opt in, you will receive recurring automated text messages from Forum Cooperative LCA related to the Services, which may include: delivery of your voter credential / PIN, notice that a Quarterly Precinct Poll has opened, civic updates, membership and account messages, and replies from customer support.

2. How to Opt In

You opt in by providing your mobile number and affirmatively agreeing to receive texts — for example, by checking the SMS consent box on our sign-up form, texting a keyword we provide, or confirming a double opt-in message. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of purchasing anything, or of your right to participate or vote in the Forum.

3. Message Frequency

Message frequency varies based on your activity and the civic calendar (for example, around quarterly poll openings and credential mailings).

4. Cost

Message and data rates may apply, according to your mobile plan and carrier. Forum does not charge you for the text messages themselves.

5. How to Opt Out (STOP)

You can cancel the SMS service at any time by texting STOP to any message you receive from us. After you text STOP, we will send you a single confirmation message and then stop sending text messages. If you want to rejoin, simply opt in again as described in Section 2.

6. How to Get Help (HELP)

For help at any time, text HELP to any message from us, or email info@forum.coop.

7. Carriers

Wireless carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Message delivery depends on effective transmission by your mobile carrier and is outside our control. This program is compatible with major U.S. wireless carriers.

8. Your Privacy

We do not share or sell your mobile opt-in information or phone number with any third parties or affiliates for their marketing purposes. Your mobile opt-in data stays within Forum and the vetted service providers that deliver these messages on our behalf.

Consistent with our role as a data fiduciary operating a Data Trust, we steward your information solely in your interest — we do not monetize, profile, or sell it. For full details on how we collect, use, protect, and share your information, please see our Privacy Policy.

9. Changes to These SMS Terms

We may update these SMS Terms from time to time. When we do, we will post the updated version with a new effective date. Your continued participation in the messaging program after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
